Ellen Sullivan is an accomplished healthcare executive with years of hands-on healthcare and business experience. She is a licensed registered nurse and risk manager. Ellen earned her Bachelors in Nursing from the University of Iowa and Masters of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University.
Ellen worked for 10 years as a registered nurse and during her tenure 20+ year tenure at Florida Blue she held leadership positions in regulatory compliance, medical management and retail business transition. She left her executive role to pursue entrepreneurship and opened the first Doctors Express urgent care franchise location in Florida. In 2015 the business was purchased and Ellen joined The BairFind Foundation in the role of Chief Executive Officer. As of 2017, Ellen is now BairFind’s Business Manager.
Ellen has held numerous officer positions on non-profit boards and actively volunteers her time. She is a member of the JaxChamber 2016 Board of Directors in the position of Councils Chair. She also serves on the JaxChamber Entrepreneurial Growth Division Board of Directors and is the Immediate Past President for the JaxChamber Health Council. She has served as Secretary for the Women Business Owners of NE FL and Vice President of the AFC Doctors Express Franchise Advisory Council. Ellen was awarded an Asset Award for Wise Money Week by Family Foundations and City of Jacksonville for her work in Doctors Express. In 2014, Ellen was recognized as the Small Business Leader of the Year of the JaxChamber of Commerce Health Council, as an Advantage Business Magazine Top 50 Business Influencer and a finalist for the Women In Business Awards – Up and Coming Entrepreneur. Ellen has been featured in Entrepreneur Magazine and on CNBC.
Leadership Jacksonville, a community trust organization has appointed Ellen to the Class of 2017.
